"I'm afraid something bad will happen to them, all the time."
"Everyone tells me I should be happy. But I don't feel happy."
"I asked for help and they told me it was normal. But this doesn't feel normal."

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What is maternal anxiety?

It's anxiety related to motherhood: constant fear for your baby, guilt, emotional exhaustion, intrusive thoughts. It's not overreacting, it's a real condition that has treatment.

Is it different from postpartum depression?

Yes. Although they can coexist, maternal anxiety centers on excessive worry, hypervigilance, and difficulty relaxing. Postpartum depression has more to do with deep sadness and disconnection. We assess for both.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We work with Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Optum, and United Healthcare. We verify your coverage before your first session.

Are sessions in person?

All sessions are via telehealth by video. This allows us to serve clients in Texas, Arkansas, and Florida with the same quality.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. Our therapists are 100% bilingual (Spanish and English). Sessions can be in whichever language you prefer, or both. You don't have to translate your pain.

Can I start therapy if I'm still pregnant?

Yes. Perinatal anxiety can begin during pregnancy. You don't have to wait until your baby is born to seek support.

What about scary or intrusive thoughts?

Having an unwanted or upsetting thought does not mean you want it to happen. Perinatal anxiety and postpartum OCD can involve intrusive thoughts, images, or fears that feel completely out of character. You don't have to be ashamed of them or keep them secret. A qualified therapist can help you understand what's happening and learn healthier ways to respond.
